Road Kill Spider
This is a very simple recipe to make if you have the materials.
  • Hook, Mustad 3906
  • Sizes, 8-14
  • Thread, Black
  • Body, Dubbed Rabbit Fur
  • Hackle, Rock Ptarmigan, 2 or 3 turns max. (summer Colors)
  The hackle is very soft and moves well in even still waters. I like to drop it in the back of pools and very slowly move it towards the front. A killer fly if you know fish are there but nothing else works.

  • Hook- tyers choice
  • Tag- fine oval gold tinsel and orange krystal flash
  • Tail - golden pheasant crest with majenta hackle fibers over
  • Rib- orange krystal flash over black floss, fine oval gold over orange floss
  • Body - rear 1/3 black floss or wool ribbed with orange krystal flash and butted with red and black ostrich herl front 2/3 orange floss or wool pumpkin color, ribbed with fine oval gold tinsel.
  • Wing- black squirrel,with strips of orange krystal flash mixed in to provide translucency, ( 6 or 8 strands )
  • Hackle- orange and black to match the body as close as possible
  • Head- black

Sea Louse
  • Hook, down-eyed nymph 10-12
  • Thread, Red
  • Tail, 2 Pheasant tail fibers, splayed apart
  • Body, natural color, 1/8 inch elastic band
  • Wing case, Turkey wing
  • Thorax, dubbed Rabbit fur
  • Hackle, Red, cut off top and sides.

  • Tag: extra fine silver twist and yellow floss
  • Tail: golden pheasant crest dyed red
  • Butt: red ostrich herl
  • Body: rear 1/3 claret floss ribbed with 5 turns of extra fine gold twist and
        butt of white ostrich herl center 1/3 white floss ribbed with 5 turns
       of  fine gold twist
        and butt of blue ostrich  herl front 1/3 blue floss ribbed with 5 turns
